Spring Break or BUST!
Just got back from Galveston Island with my cousin and her two fab. kids, Ava and Ian. We drove in her car and stayed at the Moody Gardens, which was all decked out for the Spring Break vacationing family. Cathie and I were sans husbands, but we did pick up my in laws on the way. Moody Gardens was amazing. It is a whole resort on the bay side of Galvez, and it was decked out and kid friendly. Their pool was heated, they had kid friendly activities including a pirate bounce house, and they have an aquarium and a rain forest there. WE also managed to go to the beach, which my son loved. Jack loves the beach. He is so much like me. I often wonder how exactly I manage to survive not living next to an ocean. He went into the water even though the sun wasn't out and it was like sixty degrees. HE threw his body at the waves. Molly played in the sand, and Ava and Ian ran on the sand, but Jack just soaked up the salt water like a manatee. After that, we went to the aquarium so he could see what lives in the ocean. He was not one bit phased by the creatures he had shared the water with early. And Molly was so sweet. She was so happy to be with her cousins and she was really interested in Ava's blood sugar, which she called blood pressure (Ava was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes more than a year ago when she was four). She probably would have taken her blood sugar if I would have let her try, but I don't think Ava, Cathie nor I were down with that just yet.
I kept saying that I couldn't believe we could make it without anyone getting sick. Of course, on the way home with Mike and I and the kids, Molly threw up her milk shake and then she stubbed the skin off her toe when she got out of our truck. The next day, she told me she needed scissors to "snip the skin" off the tip of her toe that wasn't connected anymore. She let me do it and didn't even flinch, then she proceeded to medicate it herself. When she got up in teh morning, she was disappointed that God hadn't healed it yet. I really think she may be a doctor, especially if she continues on this trajectory.
Anyway, we made it home and I will post pics as soon as I get them back. Tomorrow is the big Easter party at my parents house: I can't wait!

I heard y'all had a great time! Fun to go, but fun to get home too! I have no doubt Molly will be a doctor, or research scientist. She won't be a a plain 'ol M.D., she'll be something awesome! She already is!
