A Good Gig

On Saturday mornings this fall, when everyone in my neighborhood is still asleep, I am waking up and showering, preparing for class! I am teaching my first "official" college credit course this fall, and I am sooo excited! My friend, Bridgitte, recommended me at the Northeast campus, and the head of the dept. there had something that fit in my schedule. I don't like to teach during the times I have the kids, but I have done it in the past with the help of Nanna and Papa. So, he had a Sat. AM 1302 class, which is introduction to composition and literature. I am very, very excited about it. It was funny because I found out the first day almost everyone is taking this class because the others were full. Still, I have 27 students. We have only had three classes, adn the three hours from 8 until 11 go soo fast! (I am absolutely sure that this is not the case for my students...but I hope it is). I try to keep it as interactive as possible, but still see people dozing off in the beginning. It makes me laugh to think about what they have all been doing the night before. I have two girls who are new moms, so I am sure they are up with the babies at night. I have quite a few traditional students, and they look pretty darned tired. The kids stay with Mike at home. I will miss a few of Jack's tball games, but I am okay with this. I am not sure if my ultimate goal is to try to work full time at TCC, or to get a job at an area high school, but I am thankful in the meantime I can put this on my CV. I love it!
In other news, Molly Ann's first ballet class on Monday, and Jack's first acting class is Thursday. He is pumped about acting class. I LOVE this about him! Although we still don't know if he'll be an athlete, a band person, or a Drama King, it makes me smile to think about how excited he is for acting class. Not so much for t-ball. Both Molly and Jack have some weird cold thing. The rainy weather isn't helping.
