Beaver's Bend

Here are some pictures we took on our latest camping trip to Beaver's Bend, Okla. It was really beautiful there; very much like Colorado. I blew off my reading and Mike took Friday off to drive five hours to camp with my parents and Cody and Nicole. When we unloaded our camper, we had a unwelcome visitor: MOLD! Our pop up leaked and one side was covered in yucky mold. Mike cleaned it with bleach, and we are going to store it with a cover from here on out. Anyway, we didn't get a lot of rest and sleep, but we did have a great time. The kids got to play in the river, ride a train, and ride bikes. Mike got to catch his first ever trout in a river. And, I got to watch everyone buzz around like bumblebees. I did have a few moments to savor camping, one of my most favorite activities. The mountains were unbelievable, and the dogwoods were blooming. The forrest was filled to the brim with squirrels and racoons. If you haven't been to this really cool place, you should try to go sometime. They have horse riding, canoeing, fishing and other activities (we saw a Choctaw casino up the road that looked unmistakeably like the
casino Chevy Chase and Randy Quaid visit when they go on their Vegas vacation to try to win their money back! )

Frau And Senior McCormack: My Newest Dream

We dropped the kids off so I could get some school work done, and that means I got to go out to eat: YEAH!!! We went to Zios, and ate, and as we were leaving, we were just laughing like we did when we were newlyweds. I told Mike, after I finish my MA, let's both go back and get Spanish degrees and teach high school Spanish for a living. And, then Mike said, no you get your teaching certificate in German, and I'll get mine in Spanish, and we can be the whole foriegn language department in a small school. I thought that sounds like the coolest idea ever: I still do! We could take the kids to Europe: go to Barcelona, Seville, Munich and Frankfurt! It would be so cool. So, that is my new dream: to be Frau McCormack, and for Mike to be Senior McCormack. Anyway, I know it is crazy: it sounds like a Saturday Night Live skit! But, still, it makes me laugh to think of being Frau McCormack or Seniorita McCormack. Ahh, the crazy dreams God let's us have. I love it!
